Now that the Treasure Hunt is over can we see the answers to the questions. I spent all the time I had and only got 7 answered. My computer won’t allow me to use the search function – it tagged it as forbidden.
So I would like to see the answers.
I too have found information but no balloons! I’m frustrated!
I have been at it for 1.5 hours and my eyes are blurred. One problem is the Search won’t work for me as I get this message “Forbidden. My IP belongs to a high spam risk – turn off your VPN and search again.” My VPN is to protect me so my IP address is not seen by other sites.

I’m excited to create a 2023 calendar instead of paying Shutterfly for one! I will be traveling to see relatives so I hope the tools and videos will be available in case I can’t do it while away.
I get so confused with the big and small squares in the Materials Palette! I used the Text Tool to type my first word in the title and then couldn’t get the color of red and the stroke color I wanted. I found out if I make any changes, I have to select the Text by click and drag and not just have the rectangle selection around it. Yet I still couldn’t get the squares figured out as to which ones to use. Also, in doing a drop shadow, I don’t have the two windows to look at to compare how to make the settings. Mine (2022) just shows it on the photo or item on the page so I have to undo to change the settings if they are too strong or weak. I also had trouble when to close the group and merge it. Apparently, I did it too soon and then I couldn’t do one set of flowers and balloons. I had to go back to the video to watch you get the paper background to be outside the rest of it. I struggled but learned a lot! I even was able to install and use the two scripts you used. They were a time saver! So I made mine with wedding bouquets to send as an anniversary card.
Per Cassel my last Project #5 never came through from yesterday when I posted. I have relearned about shadows and selection tools plus lots of experience with Layers now. I have PSP 2022 and like Peter I have trouble with the swatches and Text tool. I keep trying until it works but not sure what I did. When I copy the Vector Layer that has my text, then hide the copy and make the Original Vector a Raster Layer it doesn’t say it is a Raster Layer but it must be because now I can add the shadow.
I had 2 questions when I uploaded last time but I can only remember one. Can we make our own frames from paper? Would you use the selection tool twice – once for an outer edge of the frame and once for the inner layer? Then merge the 2 layers?
I learned so much and hope I took good enough notes to refresh my memory this time. Thanks for all the tips and help Cassel. I really enjoyed seeing all the projects and creativity, too.
Now I have to change the Tags title below to get this loaded to the right Project 5! Hope it works this time.
Ok I redid my Project 4 for the 3rd time. I was so tired after working on it most of yesterday that I forgot to change the Font on the second title word and I forgot to do shadows. So as I redid I tried to group (for the 1st time) the 3 photos, the pinked scissors paper, the two thin ribbon paper so I could move all that down on the page. At first I got a white border on the top of that selection and the right side. I can’t remember what worked but I tried moving the group and the pick tool to expand – something worked. It probably took as much time as moving each individual piece. Cassel I would like to learn how to group. I wanted the honey at the top expanded and behind the words so that is why the move of the rest near the bottom.
Diane thanks for your state where the eagles are nesting. I live in KY but not near the Western Part where they have been seen.

I really like looking at all the projects. I’m having problems and don’t know if it is a PSP2022 glitch! My pinking scissors look from the eraser tool only did part of the top correctly but the bottom and side worked perfectly. then when I moved it below my photos, it cut one of the photos in half and it pinked it! Then I could do 2 photos with frames but then third one won’t work. Same settings and the flood fill won’t fill the inside selection. Yikes! Anyone else having squirrely things happen with PSP 2022?? I sent screen prints to Cassel to get help.
Diane Lochala has awesome photos of eagles! Diane are you in Canada? US Northwest? US Western US? We had birds until these crows moved in and also grackles! Now none!
I found this Project so frustrating. One: I only have 3 kits all from you as I can’t pay – only using free stuff. So it took forever to get a light springy look thus all the coloring doesn’t match. Second I had to rewatch the video and figure out how to get the pattern of glitter paper. The trick is to hit the center of the green square (on your video) to get to the next window and scroll to see the paper!! Yikes! Third since I have had 2 major surgeries in 2021 – the last one 4 weeks ago – I can’t sit nor stand very long without pain. The anesthesia and pain meds already lost some memory function! Thus more frustration. Sorry! Not your fault. Carol, what does Anti-alias on the Text Tool do?
Thank you Linda Walker for the snow suggestions. I did download some free there but didn’t have time to redo my Project 2 for a 3rd time.
Carol my photos were too big to start so I used the pick tool but I know you said not to do lots of resizing with it. What size should I do on the photo before I bring it into the Project?
I couldn’t get the dropper to choose a color from my photo with the text tool but it let me get a color from the Materials Palette and from the recently used palette. What did I do wrong?
I redid my Project 2(3?) and worked on the title to make it look colder with the Blue outline (strike). What is Anti-alias on the Text Toolbar? I set it to sharp but couldn’t tell must difference from the other settings.
Anyone know where I can get a snow element? Hopefully free? I wanted some for my Project.

I can’t find the Bootcamp Posts for Day 5 Project 3 (including the Sandwich). When I put in Bootcamp Day 5 I got last years posts so will you please put in the link of where to go to post on the Project Day’s Directions. I had to change the Tag Below to Day 5 so I hope it goes to the right place!
I think there are glitches in PSP 2022. I sent screen prints to your email with the problems I am finding. Very frustrated today!
This is for Day 2 and Project 2. I changed the Tag below because I couldn’t find how to get to day 3 posts!
Questions; Can you put the drop shadow on an element then duplicate it several times and it will already be on the duplicates and not have to do them 1 at a time? #2 Once I have chosen the paper can I use the dropper tool and flood fill the paper with a color from my photo? I couldn’t get it to work. #3 My new image didn’t have the blue and white checks it was all black! Why? I am using the 2022 version is that why? I was able to flood fill it with white but shouldn’t have to. #4 I had my second line of text on a new layer that I changed to Raster but then it wouldn’t let me select it with the Text Tool so I could add the shadow. I had to use the selection tool to select it then I could add the drop shadow. Is this a glitch in 2022?
My splatters are distorted because I didn’t realize the MODE had changed from size. So I left it!
I made my sandwich with 2 slices of meat, 2 of lettuce and 2 of tomatoes. I changed the color of the plate, etc. I added a new raster layer and changed the color to pale pink to make it look like a table cloth under the plate, etc. I added a heart for upcoming Valentine’s Day!
Question: I tried to use the guides to line up the silverware at the bottom but they wouldn’t snap to the guide even though I activated. why? How should I do it?
Hi, Gramie791 here! This is my second bootcamp and I am really looking forward to it. I am using PSP 2022.
I really want to work on old photos. So this one I had scanned into my laptop, resized it and then did the 1 step photo fix and the sharpen.
I don’t understand how to play this game? I have not done it before and I can’t figure it out. My experience with Bingo is under the B2 and then they call out another under the I 19 and if you have both of them on your card you mark it until you have 5 in a row in any direction.
I believe I have uploaded all five projects. This one is Project 5. When I changed it to 600X600 the words disappeared so I had to upload this version and deleted the other. Why would my words disappear when I resized it?
I purposely put the text “Race” in red glitter paper. Had quite a time getting rid of the text “Race” in blue and create a new vector text to write in the glitter paper.
Please let me know if they didn’t upload correctly.
I learned a lot and am looking forward to the Basic Scrap Course – already registered and paid. Await what is next? How do I start the Basic Course?

I could only Crop a photo and work on the color by hue and saturation before this Bootcamp. I have learned so much!
My favorite things I learned were the shortcuts: Ctrl C, Ctrl L, Crtl Y plus using Layers – Vector and Raster.
I found my PSPro Ultimate 64 bit program and opened it! Created a short cut and deleted the other one. My work space seems so much bigger.
I still have a problem creating another Vector layer or raster layer when I finish the first word using Text Tool and want a second word. I staid on the same Vector layer as my first word (Feed) and just changed the Font and color etc. and started typing the 2nd word (the). It put it on a layer below the vector layer for “Feed”. Then I did a third word. But when I wanted to move them, it put all the words inside the rectangle to move them. Then when I went to do Drop Shadows they automatically all went into 1 Rastor Layer.
The only way I can see the Windows I have minimized is to use the Windows/Cascade command. Even if I shrink the size of the picture on the screen to very small, the title of it doesn’t show at the bottom – above the Organize. If I cascade them I see the name of each open window above the Organize Icon. Don’t know if this is a 2021 feature but it wastes my time.

Question: When you were getting ready to add your poem, did you add a New Raster Layer or pick one that was already there? I picked the one that had a swirl on it and typed on it as I couldn’t tell if we were to create a new layer.
I did my 3rd photo differently as I really didn’t want to shrink it! I tried to line up the guides at the top of all the photos and at the middle of the longer photo. I did the smaller drop shadows and larger ones. I did a mirror image of the arrow to point where I wanted it.
Cassel you are so great to answer me so quickly! I am retired Mathematics Instructor who also taught Power Point, Excel, Word and Access. So I get frustrated when I don’t catch on to this program. I used to do rubber stamping but never scrapbooking. You are a very good teacher – very patient. Thanks!
I checked and my version is correct. However, I paid for a 64 bit program and somehow I am using a 32 bit. I had version 2019 at the mid 2018 and didn’t use it. Then the class I had paid to attend on it was cancelled due to Covid19 in 2020. So I got the upgrade for Christmas 2020 and am now trying to learn 2021 version. Both versions are on my computer and both were paid to be 64 Bit. I guess I need to contact Corel. I also am surprised that the 2021 version did not over write the 2019 version.
Why does my PSPro Ultimate 2021 open now directly to the Edit page? Not the Home screen?
Also it opened with a note that it needed updated so I said OK. I even did a screenprint of the items that were to be new and the resolved issues. It never completed the update. I got error messages and then I checked for updates while the program was open to edit — it said no updates available. Anyone else get these messages? Do I need to contact Corel?
I can’t get my screen print to paste here but in my folder for PSP 2021 the Folders are empty. Things like Brushes, Environment Maps, Gradients, Masks, Mixer pages, Palettes. Shouldn’t items have comein these folders with my program?
I don’t know how to answer your questions Cassel on the page where you wrote it so here goes. No, my images are NOT tabbed and I can see all images using Cascade. I think what is happening is I hit the rectangle on my image and it made it go larger and showed my background around the image so it is all bigger on the page. I want it to go back to how it looked when I first opened the image with the blue border and the rulers touch in the corners at 0.
My problem with the dropper while in Text Toolbar was that I would get the dropper when I pointed to the Font Color icon on the toolbar and I could drag the dropper to my Materials Palette but NOT onto my photo. I am so new at this! I spent hours and hours working on Project 2 as I had to research things that didn’t work for me. So in the PDF Manual for my 2021 Version I found on page 287 that there should be a dropper on the Text Toolbar to activate it — but none there. So I found that on the Materials Palette near the bottom there is the eye dropper! When I select it then I can get a color from my photo to use as a Font Color! Yeah! So I did a color from a leaf for my Title color on Project 2. I wish my version was exactly like yours to make it easier for me. I watch your videos 4-5 times. I stop them and take notes and still I struggle. But I am learning a lot!
Is there a way to merge just 3-4 layers so I can move them together?? When I finished my Project 2, I looked and would have liked to have the 3 paper layers and the photo moved lower on my page without having to piece by piece. So as I group I would have liked to move them together.
I guess since I joined the Pixel Scrappers that first time it won’t allow me to download any of the sets on your Lesson Pages. I used all my paper and embellishments 5 downloads a day. So I have to figure out what I am doing to know what to download. Still frustrating! I think you gave other suggestions of where to get those items but I can’t find them.
At this point I don’t think I will keep up scrapbooking. I am a beginner photographer so the tools with help some with it. I haven’t found a 2021 book to help. I have trouble with the scrapbooking taking the focus away from the photo.
Posting Project 1 as I had questions and what I posted previously was to get answers. I have taken Tutorials from Discovery and replayed taking notes Day 3 multiple times. Finally got some paper and embellishments.
One question- Why does my Image go from just seeing the image to seeing my prefered white background with the image on it? It takes up too much space on the workspace that way and the rulers are no longer touching and starting with 0. There is the background then the image. Hope I am making sense.
I still can’t get the dropper to work when in the Text tool so that I can capture a color from my photo.
I hope to be caught up by Monday with Day 4 and 5. So please continue to leave them available to me. Thanks!
Had trouble finding Day 3 then computer problems, then trying to download a kit of paper. It wanted me to download Dropbox to get the kit. Dropbox got into a loop and I never got it downloaded. Had to quit as I was so frustrated. Back on Day 4 and the paper colors I want are not there. Then trouble with the Text like never before! I want to upload the screen print if I can. My text won’t come out in black and there is something to thr far right of the Text toolbar that says smoke width color and that is the color it is using? But the font color is set to black. Using Ariel Black size 208, Units is Pixel, When I click on the Font Color and get the dropped, it doesn’t open the Colors like your video showed. Also if I close the Text tool and want to come back to add more text, it gives me the text in a rectangle with handles like the pick tool. I don’t understand. It is a vector – the text so do I somehow make it a Raster?? Also there weren’t any embelshments in the paper files.
Why do parts of the sandwich become Raster layers? What does that mean and why weren’t the rest of the parts labeled as Raster? I thought I could change the background behind the table settings and food but it just covered all of it.
I don’t really understand using the material pallette and the flood fill bucked. I thought I could just pick a color and use the dropper to flood fill as if it was a tablecloth. It never went behind the items and never kept the pink color I chose.
What video do you have for me to learn the material pallette better or is it another lesson coming up? Also, there was no mention of how to save it – do I make a copy? I know how to do the 600 pixels as you asked but then it asked about merging it all – so I said yes.
I have 2021 PSP as a Christmas gift. I have never posted so I don’t know how to put in my photo. I did all the customizations and set my workspace to light grey and my background to white. I don’t understand what I am seeing when I turn on the rulers. the numbers go from 0 to 400, etc. Looks like it is counting pixels by 100’s is that right?
Need help on how to post my photo. I set it to 300X400 pixels as it is a rectangle. Is that the right numbers to upload?Gramie791
