Monique, on the comparison of the shadows for the two layouts (me and that’s me), you can definitely see the difference in the shadow for the ricrac ribbons and the flower. That is the most obvious. For the title, I would still use it darker; when you use a fainter shadow, it indicates that the element is away from the surface, and in the case of the title, it obviously is NOT. For your Dutch Mill layout, the shadows are more realistic. I can see how it looks good on that flower and the leaves. Beware of the string that is unlikely to be on top of the leaves! For your project 4, all the shadows seem appropriate. On that one, the text on the pieces of paper would require a little extra treatment that was not in the tutorial, but you can read more about it in the blog HERE. It is a little detail that could be nice to adjust.

Fiona, did you try the shadow specific to the curly ribbon in your last project?

Henry, all that frustration and those challenges are always learning experiences. It is how we look at them that will determine if we see them in a positive or negative light. You are correct in saying that PixelScrappers has a wide collection of supplies. That is why I promote them (even though the free account only allows 5 downloads/day).

Ann, I would be a little “careful” in adding a flat piece of paper, on a thick frame. In reality, it would be unlikely and furthermore, that piece of paper would probably be lifted and have a different shadow. If you want something on a frame that has some thickness, you might want to use something like a flower which will have a more blurred shadow than a paper. Do you see what I mean?

And yes, I do plan on something on shadows. I am still not sure if it will be a master class, or a challenge, or another format. I am still exploring different options to help people the most.
