Henry, in reviewing your layout “Cheese”, may I suggest that you layered the string under the flower instead of on top of it. It seems that you would be unlikely to place a string like that. Your mentioning of not keeping track of all the supplies reminds me that I have a blog post planned on organizing those scrapbook supplies. It seems easy to use without a system when you start, but those supplies have a way to multiply exponentially, and then, you end up with chaos that makes you lose a lot of time in the end. Although credit is not required, it is good for the designers when they are mentioned but it also helps other viewers know where to find them, if they like a particular piece.
Monique, on the layout “Long ago”, the shadows on the ricrac ribbon has quite a large offset, making the light show between the ribbon and its shadow, giving the impression it is way off the paper. You would need to reduce that offset considerably. I think that in general, you are fairly generous on the shadows and you have used a large offset for that particular layout, on most elements too.
Ann, on “Sonya’s Ride”, I see that you mirrored the little series of brads. If you look closely, the light spot on each brad is consistent in one series, but when you mirror them, the light spot is in the other direction. This is something you have to notice and if there is a light spot on an element, you cannot mirror or flip it.
Laurie, on “Lucy”‘s layout, the shadow on the doilies is correct. And yes, sometimes, it might look slightly different if you look only at the top half or only at the bottom half. Can you share a screenshot of the Rulers?
Frans, did you forget the shadows on the “Pulled pork” layout or maybe just hid them and forgot to unhide them?
Corrie, you were careful not to mirror or flip the series of brads. That makes them more consistent!
Fiona, that is a lot of work to rotate those brads but it was worth it. And yes, I probably would have caught it if you had not before me! 🙂 I hope you will keep that series as an element that you can reuse on other projects without having to redo all those steps!
Sandra, on your “Girl’s best friend” layout, I would like to suggest a little tweak. Your photo is exactly the same height as the pink paper and I think it would give just a little more effect if you either resize the photo a little smaller or a little higher, OR you can offset it a little higher or a little lower than that pink paper. So, there is nothing wrong with the layout. It is only a suggestion to add a bit of focus.
Jean, it is not boring if the choice of solid colors just complements that great photo!
