I have X9, version 19.2.0.7. I would love it if my icons would show on the layers palette toolbar, rather than the text as shown:
I can’t get them to show any other way in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. I have uninstalled and resinstalled with no affect. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere?

This is a really strange occurrence. I have never seen that. Reinstalling is not a fun process and if it is not working, it is even worse!
Have you tried resetting PSP to default? Usually, one would do that before reinstalling, but maybe it would work? Worth a try.
Restart PSP and while it restarts, hold the Shift key. Then you will be presented with a question of whether you want to reset. You answer yes and it will reset it.
I did try to reset before reinstalling – I saved that as a last resort and was disappointed when that did not work :-/
Are you able to right-click on them while customizing to change them just like you can add icons on menu items? Or re-add them from the customize command?
I cannot right click on them. I have tried removing them and then re-adding them but I still just get the text 🙁 I have seen this happen to someone in some other forum when I was searching for this issue – I don’t think that person was ever able to resolve this, either.
I had something similar happen with an older version (X4 I think) but the icons were MIXED UP instead. Very strange.
